thorns on a rosebush,
the infesting bite of a serpent,
a brother who lies, betrays, and slanders,
and rusty nails that pierced One's hands and feet.
through all the pain we may endure
there's One who holds us strong and sure,
the deep dark sin in hearts conceived
is never greater than Grace received,
the hurt inside may not subside
yet in His Peace i shall abide.
