Open Book

My life is like an open book,
you just need to turn the pages,
to discover the depth of who i am,
through a story that engages.

Should a book be left upon the shelf
or be judged only by the cover?
each page gives clues of who we are,
on a journey as no other.

We often ignore the depths of words
written upon our hearts,
we gloss our title and close the cover,
to hide our content from another.

We're bound in many shapes and sizes
often soft, at times hard cover,
each page reveals character and grace
so authored as none other.

A well read book may be tattered and torn
yet strong threads hold it together,
each chapter unique, conceived and born
from The Master's fountain and feather.
