Lost

One man alone
lost perspective and view,
though many acquaintances
true friends he has few

In the darkness he finds
no relief from the light,
what is this cover
that keeps him in night?

Hope seems much too far
from this broken man's life,
his family's gone
lost kids and lost wife

The bottle it seems
to soothe this dark soul,
to drown all the pain
is his only one goal

Longing for hope
yet building a wall,
is there soft ground
to break his hard fall?

His heart becomes cold
little life does it show,
is there hope for a spring
to sprout from this soul?

The winter's been long
in this bitter long plight,
yet one spark of hope
could banish his night

There's plenty of flames
but none bring true hope,
as this lonely man comes
to the end of his rope

Alone in the dark
with no light and no sound,
a single chair tumbles
feet don't reach the ground
